After a long sabbatical, desi girl Priyanka Chopra is finally making her comeback to Bollywood with Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink, opposite Farhan Akhtar.

The fans of the Quantico star are thrilled to see the fresh pair of PeeCee and Farhan Akhtar in the trailer of the film that also has Dangal star Zaira Wasim.

What’s it about?

The film tells the story of a couple (Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhar) in the span of 25 years and how the terminal illness (Pulmonary Fibrosis) of their teenage daughter Aisha Chaudhary (Zaira), changes things between them.

Zaira Wasim skips TIFF premiere

Zaira Wasim recently announced his decision to quit Bollywood recently citing religious reasons.

The Secret Superstar actress was also conspicuous by her absence at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), where the lead stars Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, and director of the film Shonali Bose were present.

“Tonight at Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto we introduce #theskyispink to the world at @tiff_net. What an exhilarating moment…I could not be more proud of this film. Are we going to see you tonight??!! ?? @shonalibose_ @faroutakhtar @rohitsaraf10,” Priyanka shared on her Instagram account.

Why fans were hoping to see Zaira Wasim at TIFF 

Zaira’s fans were hoping to see her at TIFF after Priyanka’s tweet that mentioned that she was on her way to the festival and is waiting for the “rest of the team” to join her.

“On my way to @TIFF_NET today. Can’t wait for the rest of the team to join me for the premiere on the 13th.
So excited for the amazing early reviews & to share this with the world!#TheSkyIsPink,” wrote Priyanka Chopra.

Why Zaira Wasim would not do films

Zaira Wasim has quit Bollywood saying she was not happy with her current line of work, which has silently and unconsciously transitioned her “out of imaan”.

Her decision sparked a debate on social media with many people criticising her decision, while there were few industry colleagues who supported her decision.

After Dangal, Zaira went on to do Secret Superstar that got critical acclaim. As for Priyanka Chopra, she is making her Bollywood comeback after three years.
