First look: Vidya Balan looks spitting image of ‘human computer’ Shakuntala Devi

The first look of Vidya Balan in Shakuntala Devi biopic is out. The actress slips into the role of the mathematics genius effortlessly.

Vidya Balan, the biopic queen of Bollywood, is all set to play Mathematics genius Shakuntala Devi in her next. The first look of Vidya Balan’s upcoming movie was released recently and the actress nailed the look of the Guinness Book of World record holder with her short hair, bordered sari and small black bindi.

According to a report in Mid Day, the actress is set to kick off shoot of Shakuntala Devi biopic in London today

Like her every project, Vidya went deep into the life of the “human computer,” the title Shakuntala Devi earned for her calculating skills. The actress not only tapped into her mathematical skills but also her “wicked sense of humour” thus taking on her personality to be able to depict her convincingly on screen.

Recently, a picture from the film’s first look test went viral and now the official first look is out.

Shakuntala Devi was born in Karnataka and her genius was first discovered at the age of five when she apparently solved a mathematical problem designed for 18-year-old students.

Shakuntala Devi has written numerous book on mathematics, puzzles, and astrology. Her book The World of Homosexuals is considered the first study of homosexuality in India.

As for Vidya Balan, the world of biopics is not new to her. She previously worked in unofficial biopic of South sensation Silk Smitha–The Dirty Picture–that also won her National Award. Next up, Vidya is researching and working on a web series on Former PM Indira Gandhi, which will mark her digital debut.
