New Delhi: Claiming that Bigg Boss 13 has crossed all limits of vulgarity and obscenity, a Delhi-based traders’ lobby group has sought to ban the telecast of the Colors TV controversial reality show.
Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has said it is difficult to watch the channel in a homely atmosphere. Further, it has tarnished the country’s cultural values in the lust for TRPs and profits.
“It is an open fact that the show Bigg Boss has always remained in controversy and is habitual of offending values of our great nation,” CAIT has said in his letter to Information and Broadcasting (I&B) minister Prakash Javadekar.
Bigg Boss 13 has also been creating ripples online with its controversial content, especially the concept of Bed Friends Forever where girls and boys are required to share beds. #JehadFelataBiggBoss has been trending on Twitter ever since the show has started airing.
“In the current show the concept of Bed Friends Forever is highly deplorable against all moral ethics of television world,” the traders’ group said.
It further said that the contestants of the show are highly cheap in nature and ought not to be telecast on a national TV channel which is watched widely.
Internet is unhappy with a task where contestants had to pass on the ration items using their mouth without touching them with their hands, which made some of them visibly uncomfortable. Also, a contestant Paras Chhabra’s flirtatious behavior is being criticized where he’s seen demanding kisses from girls (Shehnaz Gill and Mahira Sharma) at night.
The traders’ body also took aim at host Salman Khan saying he was equally responsible for conducting the show along with the producers and directors.
The CAIT National President BC Bhartia and its Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said that “it is an open fact that the show Bigg Boss has always remained in controversy and is habitual of offending values of our great nation.”
The CAIT has demanded to take immediate steps to impose ban on Bigg Boss 13 as an interim measure saying it should be allowed to continue the show only when each episode is duly certified by the Censor Board.
Almost all the seasons of Bigg Boss have had their share of controversy and Big Boss 13 is no exception.
