New Delhi: After wrapping up shoot for Ribhu Dasgupta’s A Girl On the Train, Parineeti Chopra is all set to kick-off shoot for Saina Nehwal’s biopoic, helmed by Amol Gupte, on October 11.

The actress is leaving no stone unturned to perfect the part, from spending hours on badminton court to training with Saina’s coaches.

Parineeti was in London to shoot The Girl On The Train, directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, the remake of the Emily Blunt starrer Hollywood thriller of the same name. She had also taken Saina’s coach Eshan Naqvi with her to London to prepare simultaneously for the biopic.

Besides, Eshan’s seniors from various academies in Mumbai have also been training Parineeti, including Shrikant Vad who was Saina’s first mentor.

“I’ve put all my energies prepping for this role, something I’ve never done for the 10-12 films that I’ve worked in previously and in the process I have finally discovered the person I am and the actor. I’m really excited to start Saina. I think it will be a life-changing experience,” Parineeti told Mumbai Mirror.

Amole Gupte had started working on the biopic after reading Saina Nehwal’s autobiography in 2015. It took him four years to bring it on the floors. The film that will be shot over four months will release in the summers of 2020. Considering the Olympics 2020 is scheduled for 2020, it seems like a good timing.

The first day of the shoot will take place on October 11 at International Institute of Sports Management and Parineeti as Saina will be answering questions from journalists, students and sports management people.
