New Delhi: When Azmat Hussain won Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs at the age of 10 in 2011 after wowing everyone with his golden voice, everyone around him was hopeful for a bright career for the kid.
After the Zee TV show Azmat continued to participate in more such shows till 2013 but things changed when he attained puberty and his voice became heavier and different.
Azmat in an interview with The Times of India shared how people around him started calling him a bad singer once his voice changed and that affected him a lot because of which he eventually slipped into depression.
The reality TV show contestant said that he started hating his voice and decided to quit singing.
Azmat told the daily that he got involved in bad company and started consuming drugs and chewing tobacco. This further affected his mental and physical health.
Azmat doesn’t come from a financially sound family and had responsibility of six siblings due to which he has never gone to school. He was taking home tuitions though, but that also stopped after 2013 when he hit a rough patch in his life.
Motivated by last year winner Salman Ali, Azmat wants to try his luck at singing again. Like him, Salman also came from a financially weak background and yet fought all odds to emerge victorious. His story has inspired Azmat and he is geared up to make his comeback in singing with Indian Idol 11.
Although he could not sing perfectly during the audition round, Neha Kakkar, Anu Malik and Vishal Dadlani decided to give him an opportunity to work on his singing skills and have selected him for the next round.
All the best, Azmat! Hope you prove your mettle again.
