New Delhi: Krystle D’souza makes her foray in digital world with Alt Balaji’s Fittrat and we must say it was one glorious debut. You have seen the beautiful actress mostly draped in a sari, playing timid characters– coy bahu, good daughter.

Naina in Zee TV’s Brahmarakshas, Rupa in Belan Wali Bahu (a comedy show where Krystle killed her husband with a belan), Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Kasturi, Kahe Na Kahe are some of the TV shows that made Krystle a popular face on TV.

Now coming to her debut web series Fittrat, produced by Alt Balaji, Krystle plays Tarini Bisht, a glamorous gold digger who dreams of marrying a rich guy so that she can lead a lifestyle of her dreams. An event in childhood shapes her personality and beliefs.

A gold medal in journalism doesn’t inspire her to pursue the field as she’s very clear from her childhood that everything has a price and money is everything.

The only two people Tarini truly loves are her father Alok (Mohit Chauhan) and her best friend Amrita Sareen or Amy (Anushka Ranjan).

What happens when Amy’s fiancé falls for Tarini and their friendship is threatened? How this sharp turn changes Tarini’s beliefs and goal in life is something that’s worth watching.

Fittrat, directed by Baljit Singh Chaddha and Santosh Singh, is well embellished with glossy scenes, soulful music, pretty faces and is gripping too. The twists and turns are not predictable at all and you could certainly not guess the ending.

Tarini’s character arc is well captured but the same cannot be said about other characters. On one hand we have Amy and Tarini’s deep unconditional friendship, and on the other hand is a track of Veer Shergill’s obsession for Tarini.

Veer apparently falls in love with Tarini at first sight, but it seems more of lust than love. He traps Tarini, gets her out of Amy’s life and makes every attempt to destroy her reputation. There’s very little hint in the series that his feelings for her is true love. All of a sudden towards the end of series, his character makes a U-turn and tries to become a hero.

Thankfully for Tarini, she is in a mood to become her own hero, and finally finds out the true meaning of love and her real goal.

The ending might not be liked by all for two reasons. One, it’s not something that one may expect. Two, It looks hurried, loose, and preachy. Also, we can’t decide whether to love or hate Veer Shergill.

Krystle and Aditya Seal’s chemistry is refreshing and so is Anushka and Krystle’s dosti.

Seasoned actors Kitu Gidwani and Divya Seth were a delight to watch as they light up the screen every time they have a scene.

Overall, it’s Krystle who outshines every other actor and takes the series a few notches up with her magnetic and charming screen presence.
