How much do we know about ourselves? We rarely enquire about this. We are so busy either in our day-do-day need or trying to be what we are not that this basic question remains unanswered. It remains unanswered for life in most cases!!
This is one of the key reasons, many of us live unhappy and unfulfilled life.
There would be perhaps millions of engineers, doctors and administrators who never chose to be so. They chose their career path under somebody else’s influence. Similarly, there are millions of people who buy a car or a bungalow coming under others’ influence.
In case we do something without thoroughly examining its pros and cons we only regret later. Since majority of the people make decisions without vetting it properly, they are left with no choice but to complain later.
We can effectively deal with this if we know our true nature. It is not easy but practice over a period of time can help us.
To start with, we have to spend one day with ourselves. This will give us some clue and then we would enjoy being in our own company for many more days. There are chances that after observing our action, thought, plans and approach to face a challenging situation one may conclude that he or she is lazy by nature. Knowing this, the person may decide not to take up a work which requires one to be agile.
Now, imagine that a lazy person decides to do something which demands one to be vigilant and on toes. If we know our true nature, we would take responsibility as per our ability, skill, knowledge etc. This would minimize the scope of being dejected and depressed.
If we constantly keep focus on ourselves we may even know what we are capable of. We may exactly know our depth of confidence and hence would take up tasks accordingly. This will help us achieve our goals of life in minimum possible time while leaving a lot of time to make most of it.
