New Delhi: Depression, anxiety, stress. We all come across these terms almost every other day yet brush aside our own mental health concerns saying it’s nothing major. Mental health, whereas, is an important component of health and is more than absence of mental disorders or disabilities.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), mental health is a state of well-being in which the individual realises his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.

A lot of external factors and personality traits affect out mental well being. Stress and fast-paced lifestyle are our daily villains that add to our mental woes.

There is a lack of awareness among people to take care of their mental health as much as they care about other aspects of lives.

On Monday #MyMentalHealthIn3Words trended on Twitter and it brought out some heartbreaking stories of people’s life. These tweets are proof that more people than we imagined are living a messed up life and are unable to get help from people around them.
