New Delhi:  Cricket is a religion for many in India and film stars are no exception. In fact, many of the reigning stars in Bollywood were aspiring cricketers at some point of time considering they played the sports in their childhood.

The actor was seen with wife and Tanhaji co-star Kajol on Star Sports’ Nerolac Cricket Live. The couple featured on the pre-show of the first T20 match for the Paytm India vs Sri Lanka T20 series.

Speaking about his fondest memory of playing cricket, Ajay Devgn said, “I was a batsman. When it comes to memories, there are plenty – My finger had chipped when I tried to catch the ball, it is still twisted (he laughs).”

Adding to that, Ajay Devgn shared the one dialogue he would say to a bowler, “I would say , ‘Aata majhi satakli.”

Ajay Devgn’s birthday coincided with the finals of ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. When Kajol was asked the atmosphere at home on that day, she said, “In our house, we have a den on the floor which has a huge screen; on the day of the world cup the entire family lets everything else and came together to watch the match. We were excited and eager to know the result, there was celebration through the match.”

Ajay Devgn added, “India winning the match that day was the best Birthday gift.”

Cricket fandom comes with its own set of superstitions, and Kajol too shared some of hers on Nerolac Cricket Live. “I think superstitions happened at that point in time when the match is going. When Team India hits a sixer, the immediate reaction we have is ‘don’t move until the this over is finished’

Ajay Devgn names one player from the Indian team who is the ‘Tanhaji’ of Team India, “I think Virat Kohli – he is confident, aggressive, wants to win at any cost.”
