New Delhi: Ritu Nanda, the daughter of showman of Indian Cinema late Raj Kapoor passed away in New Delhi early on Tuesday. She was 71. Nanda succumbed to cancer after a seven-year-old battle with the disease, said reports.
She was Rishi, Randhir, Rajiv and Rima’s sister and married to the former Escorts Group Chairman late Rajan Nanda. She is survived by her son Nikhil Nanda, daughter Natasha and grandchildren Agastya Nanda and Navya Naveli Nanda.
The last rites of Nanda will be performed on Tuesday at 1:30 PM at Lodhi Road creamation ground in Delhi, reports The Times of India.
Amitabh Bachchan confirmed the news of the demise of his samdhan on his blog. Bachchan’s daughter Shweta is married to Ritu Nanda’s son Nikhil Nanda.
“My ‘samdhan’ Ritu Nanda, Shweta’s Mother in Law passed away suddenly at 1.15 Am .. cannot communicate .. travelling (sic),” wrote Big B.
Ritu Nanda was the chairwoman and chief executive officer of Ritu Nanda Insurance Services (RNIS).
Members of Kapoor family and her well-wishers took to Instagram to pay her a tribute.
