New Delhi: Sara Ali Khan who is making headlines for her upcoming movie Love Aaj Kal opposite Kartik Aryan recently talked about her childhood memories on Star Sports’ Nerolac Cricket Live ahead of the India-Australia ODI match. The two also launched the trailer of the movie on the show.
Sara is not just a filmy kid. If her grandmother Sharmila Tagore and father Saif Ali Khan are actors, grandfather Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was a legendary cricketer.
So what was her childhood like with this heady mix of films and cricket. Apart from acting, was Sara ever interested in cricket?
“As a kid I was fat, so playing cricket was not something that crossed my mind. My father, Saif Ali Khan is an avid cricket fan and he played cricket in school, and my brother Ibrahim also plays cricket. They have a lot of cricket knowledge, and because of my grandfather, my family as a whole love and connect deeply with the sport,” said the actress.
Watching cricket at home with family is fun for Sara but not in a way you would think. “There is always a tense situation at home when my family watches a cricket match. I always wish we could watch the match in a relaxed manner having popcorn – but that never happens when it’s with my family. They are hyper and nervous – but honestly, it’s fun watching them too. I don’t understand too much of cricket – I look at them, I look at the screen and that goes on which is a lot of fun for me.”
Interestingly in Love Aaj Kal, Saif Ali Khan starred in lead role along with Deepika Padukone. Here’s what he said about Love Aaj Kal 2 starring his daughter Sara. “I still remember shooting for Love Aaj Kal. I kind of liked my trailer more. So… uh… what to say. But I wish them all the best.”
Love Aaj Kal 2 is set in two different decades and portrays two love stories. While Kartik Aryan pairs up with Arushi Sharma in the story set in 1990s, he romances Sara Ali Khan in the year 2020, when love is more complicated with rise in life’s complexities.
