New Delhi: It’s Dhoom time again, it seems. Post the release of Dhoom 3, starring Aamir Khan in lead role, in 2013, the franchise is yet to announce its next installment. However, that hasn’t stopped the rumour mills from churning overtime.
After reports of Salman Khan and Ranveer Singh being approached for Dhoom 4 over the years, the latest is that none other than Akshay Kumar has been approached for the film and the actor will play an out-and-out negative character in the film.
A trade analyst has tweeted that Akshay Kumar has been confirmed for Dhoom 4 and that has got the fans excited on social media.
The original Dhoom released in 2004 starred John Abraham as the main villain while Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra played the cops and Rimi Sen and Esha Deol romanced them. Produced by Aditya Chopra, it was written by Vijay Krishna Acharya and directed by Sanjay Gadhvi.
Dhoom 2 that hit the theatres two years later in 2006 was bigger in scale and paired Hrithik Roshan with Aishwarya Rai, while retaining the original cast of Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra. The YRF movie was written by Vijay Krishna Acharya and directed by Sanjay Gadhvi.
Fans had to wait for more than six years to see Dhoom 3 starring Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif.
However, unless there is an official announcement, fans need to wait and watch.
