New Delhi: Mannphodganj Ki Binny, featuring Pranati Rai Prakash in lead role, is a slice of life comedy that is about the big dreams and escapades of a small town girl who’s modern and progressive in her outlook but traditional at heart.
The dramady adapted from the book Band Baaja Boys by Rachna Singh is a decent watch and can be seen for free on MX Player.
Mannphodganj Ki Binny tells the story of young, dreamy-eyed ‘Binny’ from the suburb of Mannphodganj in erstwhile Allahabad, now Prayagraj. She plans to leave the small town and dream it big. But the best laid plans often go astray, as do Binny’s.
“What drew me to this character was the spirit of this young 21-year-old who values tradition, but is not bound by it – aspires to be a metropolitan woman but is still rooted and down to earth but overall, it’s her will to carve her own destiny that really resonated with me,” said Pranati Rai Prakash about her role.
Pranati is an Indian fashion model and winner of India’s Next Top Model 2016. She was also a semi-finalist at Miss India 2015.
The show is produced for Applause Entertainment by Tony and Deeya Singh’s – DJ’s A Creative Unit. Mannphodganj Ki Binny is directed by Vikas Chandra.
The 10 episodic series also stars Anurag Sinha, Aru Krishnank, Abhinav Anand, Samar Vermani, Alka Kaushal, Atul Srivastava, Kritika, Fahmaan Khan in key roles. The series is written by Amitosh Nagpal.
