New Delhi: As the viewers are enjoying the re-run of Ramayan starring Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee, it would be interesting to know for the fans how difficult it was for the actors to play the part considering the heavy costumes and ornaments that are part and parcel of a mythological show.

Gurmeet has acted in numerous films and TV shows but shot to fame thanks to his portrayal of Lord Ram in Ramayan which is currently airing on Dangal channel. The show which has a huge fan base has recently returned to television.

Going down the memory lane about Ramayan’s shooting experience, Gurmeet recollects some challenging moments and highlights one such particular incident.

“During the shoot of Ramayan, I had to wear a crown (mukut) weighing around 3-4 kilograms which was specially brought from Chennai. Since our shoots would go on for 12-13 hours daily, I had to wear the crown all the time. This headgear was so heavy that I often suffered head injuries. Eventually, I got used to it. Looking back, I believe hard work eventually paid off,” he said.

Gurmeet starred opposite real life partner Debina Bonnerjee who played Sita in the show, in Ramayan. Their romance blossomed on the sets of the mythological show and the two are inseparable since then.

Ramayan airs every evening at 7.30pm and has a repeat telecast at 9.30am only on Dangal TV.
