New Delhi: Rajkummar Rao’s journey from doing supporting roles to carrying a film entirely on his shoulders has indeed been impressive.
His roles in Shahid, Trapped, Newton among others especially has catapulted him to one of the most powerful actors we have in film industry today.
While nearly everyone of us know Rajkummar’s dedication towards his craft and the rigorous preparations he undergoes for perfecting his roles, few of us are aware of the talented actor’s hidden gift.
Well, Rajkummar Rao recently spilled the beans on the sets of dance show India’s Best Dancer. He was there to promote his upcoming film Chhalaang with his co-star Nushrratt Bharuccha.
Rajkummar had auditioned for Sony TV’s popular show Boogie Woogie when he was a school student. However, he was rejected in the audition phase.
Rajkummar said, “Many years ago, when I was in class 11, I had come to Mumbai to audition for Boogie Woogie with my younger brother. But, I got rejected back then,” he shared.
Judge Malaika Arora said, “Raj is a closet dancer, but not many know that he is a fabulous dancer and I was fortunate to dance with him in a film. We did a song in the movie Dolly ki Doli, we came on the set and were rehearsing, Raj was around and all quiet. But the moment the song started playing, he went all out with his dance.”
Listening to the conversation, Nushrratt further added, “You should watch him at parties, if you play 90s Bollywood music, he dances really well to these songs.” Later, Malaika Arora also shook a leg with Rajkummar on the track Nazar na lag jaaye.
