New Delhi: “Life hamein sab kuch sikhati hai, bas ek cheez nahi sikhati – khushi khushi marna”
Small screen’s favourite Komolika Hina Khan is back to big screen again with Rahat Kazmi’s Wishlist. She stars opposite Jitendra Rai in the film that delves into the complexities of modern life that keep us away from the simples pleasures of life, and how people realise what they are missing out on when they are on the verge of losing it all.
Shalini (Hina Khan) and Mohit (Jitendra Rai) are like any other couple nowadays who are completely immersed in work, putting up long hours in their workplaces, forgetting to enjoy each other’s company, something they had promised each other while getting into this relationship.
It’s a heartbreaking event in their life that makes them remember the wish list they had put together and they decide to live life from then onwards.
“This film is very special to me; I can positively say that it has made me retrospect and reconsider my choices in life. One of the biggest takeaways for me while playing Shalini was that the best laid plans can go astray, sometimes – it’s about simply going with the flow and believing that things will right themselves. I’m sure it’s something that will bring a smile to people’s faces but at the same time leave an aching pain in their hearts,” says Hina Khan who was last seen in a cameo in Ekta Kapoor’s TV show Naagin.
Director Rahat Kazmi shared saying, “It has been a great experience working with Hina and the team of Wishlist. We’ve all, at some point, given up on our dreams or desires for other commitments and through this film, all we want to tell everyone is that it’s never too late to find happiness – it’s about believing in the individualistic meaning of life and coming to terms with it.”
Hina Khan who shot to fame with Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai playing Akshara went on to broaden her work profile with reality show Bigg Boss 11 and Khatron Ke Khiladi. She played an antagonist in Kasautii Zindagii Kay before announcing her big plans for small screen. The actress started her film career with Rahat Kazmi’s Lines alongside Farida Jalal, then went on to do Vikram Bhatt’s Hacked and Zee5’s horror film Unlock while also trying her hands at short films like Smart Phone and Soulmate and web series Damaged 2. Recently, she also started work on an Indo-Hollywood film called The Country of Blind.
