Gurugram: Out-of-pocket medical expenses not only burn a deep hole in the pocket of patients but at times leave families in huge financial distress. In the post-Covid world, health has taken centre stage and focus has shifted on preventing illnesses. Seeking to nip the lifestyle diseases in the bud and promote wellness among people, Kamdhenu Arogya Wellness Sansthan on Sunday organised a free pain relief and management camp at Bissar near Gurugram in Haryana.
Led by former bureaucrat, cow-lover and a firm believer in alternative treatment Dr SP Gupta, the camp saw participation by senior government functionaries, eminent personalities and locals.
The pain relief camp was preceded by talks on traditional Indian therapies, yoga, ayurveda and how modern life is giving rise to numerous diseases. The speakers were unanimous on the benefits of Panchgavya which comprises of milk, urine, dung, ghee, and curd of desi cow.
The camp coincided with the Kamdhenu Arogya Sansthan’s monthly Havan and Tulsi pujan day.
Speaking on the occasion, Doordarshan Directorate General Mayank Agrawal said that living in the proximity of nature rids people of many diseases and suggested to organise health camps on regular intervals for the benefit of humanity.
“Life is blissful in the company of nature. It is most satisfying,” Agrawal said.
He also inaugurated Kamdhenu Hydroponic fodder house.
Legendary film-maker K.C. Bokadia who flew from Mumbai to join the inaugural event was all praises for the social work done by Kamdhenu Arogya Sansthan and its founder Dr SP Gupta.
An animal lover whose kindness for the voiceless reflects in many of his films including Teri Meherbaniyan stressed the need for adopting Sattvic lifestyle to keep diseases at bay.
“We never featured even non-vegetarian foods in our films,” said Bokadia who has worked with many superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan.
Bokadia has produced successful films such as Pyar Jhukta Nahin, Teri Meherbaniyan, Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam and Main Tera Dushman.
Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni who is known for his notable works towards world peace appreciated the works of Kamdhenu Arogya Sansthan and said that Dr Gupta’s initiatives have helped bring people closer to their cultural roots.
Mukesh Kumar Ahuja, a 2009 batch IAS officer and Commissioner of Municipal Corporation of Gurugram said that “gau-seva (serving the cows)” brings mental peace.
Ashok Kumar Garg, Deputy Commissioner, Rewari said that staying connected with nature helps you stay healthy. He added that gau seva is great service.
