New Delhi: Baahubali director SS Rajamaouli’s RRR starring Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Jr NTR and Ram Charan that was earlier supposed to hit the theatres in July 2020 has now been postponed to January 8, 2021.
The makers took to social media to announce the change in the release date of the historical magnum opus.
“Your love and support have made all our hard work and hectic schedules worthwhile! We are working round the clock to give you a cinematic experience like never before. And with a huge worldwide release planned, we have had to postpone the date of release,” read a tweet from the official twitter handle of RRR Movie.

RRR is a fictional story set in pre-independence era and is based on the real-life freedom fighters Alluri Seetharama and Komaram Bheem to be played by Ram Charan Teja and Jr NTR respectively. It will release worldwide in 10 Indian languages.
Presented by D. Parvathy, and produced under the DVV Entertainments banner by DVV Danayya, the film is being made on a budget of Rs 300 crore.
MM Keeravani will be the music composer while KK Senthil Kumar will be handling the cinematography and A Sreekar Prasad editing.
The film also stars Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sanjay Dutt, Olivia Morris, Ray Stevenson and Alison Doody.
“This will be a fictional story on the lives of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. There are gaps in the lives of these legendary freedom fighters that we don’t know about.
“We don’t know what happened in their lives in these years. It is through this fictional story we’d like to show what could have happened in their lives and what would have happened if they met and bonded,” Rajamouli told reporters at the film’s launch ceremony, Rajamouli said at the launch of the film.
