Gurgaon: Holi Milan celebration at Kamdhenu Arogya Sansthan and Gowdham at Bissar-Akbarpur on the outskirts of Gurgaon was a fun-filled affair.
The programme was hosted by former IAS officer of Haryana cadre SP Gupta and guests included scores of the best and brightest from bureaucracy with their families.
Barely few miles away from the untamed noise of the city, the sprawling campus of the Arogya Sansthan and greeneries in the backdrop served as perfect escape.
As the eminent guests from the civil service fraternity stepped into Gowdham premise, they were in for a relaxing day, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Poetry and humour added to the long-lasting memories. The festivities became nothing short of divine.
The delightful programme started with the welcome of the officers followed by poem reciting and singing.
Melodious songs by Mrs. Apeksha Jain, ISS and Mrs. Rakhi Gupta, IAS left the fellow officers captivated. Renowned comic-poet Mahesh Garg and a central government officer also recited one of his poems.
The Holi Milan programme at Kamdhenu Gowdham was attended by many senior officers occupying top positions in central and state governments. Notable among them included IAS officer Shyam Lal Goel, Vinay Singhal, DHJS, GP Gupta, ICAS, Ajay K. Singhala (IAS), Rakhi Gupta (IAS) and other senior civil servants.
The Founder Chairman of the Gowdham, Dr SP Gupta greeted all the guests on the sacred festival of Holi. An animal-lover and a humanist Dr Gupta said that present environment demands that one should think of giving to the society and not just extracting from it.
“It is not necessary that one can only serve the society with wealth but also by good action and pious thoughts,” he said.
The Sansthan gives a glimpse of rural environment and one can find articles of olden days like milk-weed, mortar and pestle, oil dispenser and grinding-stone.
