Maniesh Paul, Farah Khan join Sonu Sood to help stranded migrant workers

New Delhi: Migrant workers and poor of the country have been facing the brunt of nationwide lockdown like no one else. Left with no food and livelihood, millions of migrant workers resolved to walk to their hometown. Many died on their way either out of hunger or due to road accidents.

In such a situation, certain members of the film fraternity have come forward to extend their helping hand. Sonu Sood, especially has proven to be the true superhero for the stranded workers as on everyday basis he not only helps the migrant workers reach their home towns by arranging buses for them, but also provides food and water to them. He also recently flied more than 167 migrant workers from Kerala to Odisha via Air Asia’s chartered flight.

The actor who has been lauded for his efforts has even launched a website for this purpose. He is also giving rooms in his hotel for health professionals to stay.

Members of film fraternity like Maniesh Paul and Farah Khan have also joined Sood in his initiative. Farah Khan keeps in touch with the actor for requirements of food and water for the workers. Maniesh Paul also sought help from Sood to send his household help and 40 labourers back to their natice place.

Paul has also been making sure there are enough resources for the families of workers in this hour of crisis. He has donated Rs 20 lakh to the underpriviliged and created a awareness about Coronavirus with his short film’ What If’.

More people like Sood, Paul and Khan are needed to help migrant workers get out of their worst nightmare.
