New Delhi: Shweta Basu Prasad, the actress who made a mark in Bollywood with critically acclaimed performances in Makdee and Iqbal and in television with shows like Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki and Chandra Nandini will soon be seen in Alt Balaji series Dr Donn.
Shweta has worked in episodic series Flip and Telugu crime series Gangstars in the past.
The actress will portray the character of a lawyer named Rekha who has confidence written all over her face. She is a no-nonsense kind of person and one who doesn’t get influenced by anything.
The story revolves around Ranveer Don aka Dr. Donn, a man who made headlines by leaking the entrance exam papers of IIT, MBBS, IAS, IPS between 1995-2003.
Speaking about the series, Shweta Basu Prasad said, “I have had a long association with Balaji Telefilms and being roped in for this web series feels like a homecoming. I am really excited to play the character of Rekha who is a strong, confident lawyer and has high moral standards but somehow ends up taking up the case of Dr.Donn and realizes that she’s actually defending somebody who’s grey in character. I feel the kind of content that is being made on the web these days is truly commendable. I hope viewers like what we have in store and the web series goes on to be a huge success.”
