New Delhi: The teaser of Ridhi Dogra and Monica Dogra-starrer The Married Woman is out and the series is a refreshing same-sex love story that will touch hearts. The Alt Balaji series tells the story of Astha and Peeplika who fall in love with each other.
To begin with Astha (Ridhi) is a married woman you can spot anywhere around you. A perfect wife, mother, daughter and the one who doesn’t make choices for herself. However she undergoes a transformation when she meets her true love, Peeplika, a painter.
As Aastha looks at Peeplika’s painting, she can find glimpses of her own story in it. She probably feels attraction and gets awkward in front of Peeplika. Soon like magnets the two come together and start a new journey.
“She was everything society wanted her to be, a good daughter, wife, mother; she was fragments of lost pieces of herself. But then, Love happened!This is Astha’s journey as her heart finally chances upon a connection that satisfies the craving of her soul. @ektarkapoor,” reads Alt Balaji tweet announcing the teaser.
Based on Manju Kapoor’s book the story is set against the backdrop of Babri Masjid demolition that happened in 1992.
The series stars Ridhi Dogra, Imaad Shah, Nadira Babbar, Monica Dogra, Ayesha Raza, Samridhi Dewan, Rahul Vohra, Suhaas Ahuja, Nabeel Ahmed, Divya Seth Shah among others and is helmed by Tanveer Bookwala .
The Married Woman will start streaming on Alt Balaji and Zee5 on March 8.
