New Delhi: Puri Jagannadh’s much awaited sports romantic film starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday in the lead is all set to hit the theatres on September 9, it has been announced today on social media.
“All set to pack a punch around the globe #Liger is releasing in theatres on 9th September worldwide in 5 languages – Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada & Malayalam,” announced Karan Johar on his social media account.
Ananya Panday earlier shared a video giving in details about the release date announcement. “Breaking all the barriers of language, A Pure Dhamakedaar Entertaining Ride is coming for you soon! Tune in Tomorrow @ 08.14AM for the Release Date Announcement,” she wrote.
Vijay Devarkonda plays a kickboxer with a stutter in the film. He underwent a physical transformation for the role and took martial arts training in Thailand.
While the filming of the film began in January last year, the coronavirus lockdown has delayed the theatrical release of the film. It was previously titled Fighter. The film is produced by Karan Johar, Charmme Kaur, Apoorva Mehta, Hiroo Yash Johar and Puri Jagannadh.
