New Delhi: Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan have become parents again, to a baby boy. The couple’s first child Taimur is 4-year-old . The actress was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on evening of February 20 and gave birth to her second child around 9 am in the morning today (February 21), confirmed their relative Riddhima Kapoor Sahni.
“We have been blessed with a baby boy. Mom and baby are safe and healthy. Thank you to our well wishers for their love and support,” said Saif Ali Khan in a press statement.
Kareena like her previous pregnancy stayed quite active second time around too. She shot for various commercials, movie Lal Singh Chaddha, visited Saif Ali Khan on sets of his films, hosted her chat show among many other things.
The actress who believes women should not stay immobile during pregnancy also stayed fit doing Yoga during the time apart from taking the right nutrition.
As for their second child, the parents did not decide the name beforehand and had planned to leave it to the last minute. Bebo had in fact talked about springing a surprise when it came to her second baby’s name in a chat show. “Honestly, After the whole name controversy of Taimur, both Saif and me have not really thought about it. We are going to leave it last minute and then again spring a surprise,” said Kareena on the chat show.
While Taimur has been getting the love and attention from media ever since he was born, his name created quite a controversy as people linked it to the Mughal conquerer Taimur and criticised the parents to name their child after him.
Meanwhile congratulations have started pouring in for the new parents from their industry friends, family and well-wishers.
