Mumbai: It’s Housefull again this Diwali as the triumvirate of Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Bobby Deol are all set to take the audiences on a crazy ride with the fourth installment of the popular franchise, but with a twist.
Housefull franchise has its own flavour but each installment comes with a fresh story. This one is different from the rest in many ways. The film has three leading ladies–Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde and Kriti Kharbanda. Wait, there’s also Nawazuddin Siddiqui in what looks like a cameo and the Sacred Games fans will see him mouthing his favourite dialogue with a comical twist–kabhi kabhi lagta hai apunich bhagwaan hai.
Housefull 4 is touted as the most expensive comedy ever. Made on a large scale and a huge budget, the reincarnation comedy is a costume drama too as the cast of the film are shown 600 years back in 15th century in a flashback sequence as they discover the true love of their life.
Synopsis
Here goes the synopsis. “In 1419 Sitamgarh, 6 lovers are parted away due to an evil conspiracy. 600 hundered years later in 2019 in London, the lovers are reincarnated and meet again but this time each one of them is marrying the wrong person. History repeats itself and They all land up again in Sitamgarh. How they come to realise who their true love is what forms the crux of the story.”
What happens in the trailer
The trailer starts with Akshay Kumar as he tells us that the history is going to repeat itself and he’s going to do what he did 600 years back. Turns out he can remember his previous life where he was a 15th century prince of Madhavgarh, and his fiancee and his friends and their fiancees also exist in the time period and are related in a strange twist of fate. The bunch is now in London in 2019 but with the wrong partners. Will he marry his bhabhi or let his friend marry his love from the past life? Guess, the film has all the answers.
The film might look a bit different in its packaging, but in spirit it justifies the Housefull brand.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Farhad Samji, the film will release on October 25.
Here’s what the cast of Housefull 4 had to say on the trailer launch event of the movie.
“Ye to trailer hai picture abhi baaki hai. I had the best time shooting for the movie and I find myself fortunate to get the opportunity to work in a Housefull movie. It’s unreal that I am part of Housefull 4,” said Kriti Kharbanda.
“We enjoyed shooting for this film so much that it’s translating on screen. It’s a very light-hearted film that’s going to release on Diwali. It’s going to be a laugh riot. Thanks to Nadiadwala sir and Akshay sir for this wonderful opportunity,” said Pooja Hegde.
“We had so much fun shooting for the film that it seemed like we were on a holiday doing masti…aur masti karte karte shoot kar liya film. And I think that fun is visible on the screen. But hope you love the trailer and the film also. Reincarnation comedy is a new concept and I am so happy that Sajid sir and all of them came up with this film,” said Kriti Sanon about the film.
“I have been fortunate enough to be part of this family for 12-15 years. I want to thank Akshay for all the movies we did together from Heyy Babyy and all the Housefull film,” said Riteish Deshmukh.
“Sajid aur mera rishta bahot purana hai. We both went to the same school in 255 number bus. And now because of him mera kitchen chalta hai. Mere ghar walon ki padhai hoti hai..bijli kar bill bharte hain,” said Akshay Kumar.
