New Delhi: Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel-starrer Yeh Hai Mohabbatein is coming to an end after running for over six years. Inspired by Manju Patel’s novel Custody the show told the story of a Tamil dentist Dr Ishita Iyer and Punjabi CEO Raman Bhalla who get married for the latter’s daughter Ruhi’s sake and fall in love after marriage.
The show and its various other character like Shagun (Anita Hassanandani), Ruhi (Ruhanika Dhawan/Aditi Bhatia), Pihu (Ruhanika Dhawan), Mrs Bhalla (Shahnaz Rizwan/Usha Rana), Romi (Aly Goni), Mihika (Mihika Verma/Avantika Hundal), Simmi (Shireen Mirza), Mani (Sumeet Sachdev) among others got much love over the years.
Very soon Yeh Hai Mohabbatein will make way for Yeh Hai Chahatein and makers are making no stone untured to work on a gripping concept yet again.
Yeh Hai Mohabbatein started off with a strong concept focusing on a social issue about a woman who could not have children, a stepmother who according to Indian terms is considered ‘bad’. It was the audience’s love that made the show what it is today.
Talking about Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Ekta Kapoor said, “When I created Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, I did not want to concentrate on the TRPs but on the social issue where a woman who cannot have children is labelled in the worse possible way by the society. This show got so much love that it went on for six years.”
Elaborating on her upcoming project Yeh Hai Chahatein, Ekta said, “We have seen a lot of stories till now, but this one is going to be even more special. It is said that its easier for men with children to get married again, but very tough for a woman with a child to find a suitable groom.”
Ye Hai Chahatein is all set to premiere on December 19 at 10:30 PM on Star Plus
