New Delhi: It was a walk down the memory lane for alumni of Hindu College as the Old Students’ Association (OSA) of the premier college organised the 5th Annual Golf Tournament in the national capital’s Qutab Golf Course.
As many as 120 enthusiastic golfers participated in it. Some of the who’s who of the country and distinguished alumni of the college joined to relive old memories.
Reminiscing the old days of Hindu College, all the alumni expressed a desire to help the current students in higher education.
On this occasion Vivek Nagpal, Founder, Rosmerta Group was the Chief Guest.
Arjun Munda, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs and Rao Inderjit Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation; Minister of State in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Planning were the guests of Honour.
Ravi Burman, President, OSA, said, “This is the 15th year of this golf tournament. It is an alumni bonding event. Everyone looks forward to it as it is a great occasion to reminisce about our college days. When we started this tournament, we had around 30 golfers, today we have more than 500. That’s been the major push.”
The winners of the tournament were given trophies and souvenirs. The result of the tournament was declared as follows:
- Longest Drive overall – Sanjay Kataria
- Winner Golden Years – Swaran Singh Chawala
- Runner up Ladies – Ivleen Khurana
- Winner Ladies – Ritu Chaddha
- Winner Invitee- Pradyuman Tripathi
- Runner-Up Nett – Jaskaran Khurana
- Winner Nett – Mahindra Kumar Mohanty
- Runner-Up Gross -Vikram Bahri
- Winner Gross – Keshav Kapoor
Among those present, who enjoyed the fun and frolic of the gala event, were Justice S. Ravindra Bhat, Judge Supreme Court of India; Justice Hrishikesh Roy, Judge of Supreme Court of India; Justice Manmohan, Judge Delhi High Court; Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri, Judge Delhi High Court; Justice Jasmeet Singh, Judge Delhi High Court; Willy Kipkorir Bett, Kenyan Ambassador to India; Archil Dzuliashvili, Georgian Ambassador to India; Dr. Anup Wadhawan IAS (retd.), Former Commerce Secretary, Government of India; Dilip Trivedi, Former Director General, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and K. K. Sharma, Former Director General, Border Security Force (BSF) among others.
Everybody savoured the sumptuous lunch at the Qutab Golf Club. The Alumni fraternity cheered the participants in a big way.
