New Delhi: Bollywood has lost another legend in these deadly corona times. Ace choreographer Saroj Khan breathed her last in Mumbai in the wee hours of Friday morning after suffering from a cardiac arrest. She was 71.
She had not been keeping well and was admitted to Mumbai’s Guru Nanak Hospital last month, since June 17, after complaining of breathing problems. Her Corona test came negative. She passed away at 2:30 am due to cardiac arrest at the hospital, her nephew Manish Jagwani confirmed to a news agency. Her funeral took place on Friday morning in Malad, Mumbai.
In her career spanning four decades, Saroj Khan choreographed more than 2000 songs. Born in November 22, 1948, Khan started out at as a child artist in film Nazarana at the age of three. Later, she became a background score and honed her dancing skills under the guidance of choreographer B. Sohanlal who she married at the age of 13.
She got a break as a full-fledged choreographer in the film Geeta Mera Naam (1974), but she became a renowned name after choreographing for Sridevi and later Madhuri Dixit. Be it Hawa Hawaai, Tamma Tamma Loge, Chandni, or Dhak Dhak Karne Laga, her dance steps became a rage.
Film industry has expressed their heartfelt condolences over the demise of their colleague.

“Woke up to the sad news that legendary choreographer #SarojKhan ji is no more. She made dance look easy almost like anybody can dance, a huge loss for the industry. May her soul rest in peace,” wrote Akshay Kumar.
