The times are pretty chaotic. The world is fighting a pandemic, there are societal breakdowns, forests are turning into ashes, cities are flooded, country is moving into recession, there is a border emergency and what not.

It has been a while since we all heard something good and certainly feel quite hopeless about things now. Working from home or online classes have become our normal week days. There is no Monday motivation or the Friday weekend excitement; everyday feels pretty much the same.

All of us are coping with our lives in our own ways surrounding ourselves with family, picking up new hobbies, binge watching and reading. While every coping mechanism is valid, we are still crushed by this monotony and often find ourselves struggling to stay happy and feeling good about things.

To your rescue, we have come up with 5 hacks to instantly cheer up your mood

1) Take a shower: This might sound like a speech coming up from a typical Indian mom but trust me on this, taking a shower works like magic on your mood. You’re feeling lazy and lethargic and have no trace of motivation to do anything, you get up take a shower and boom! You’ll instantly feel so good, all energetic, fresh and happy.

2) Dress up for your work: Attending Zoom and Skype meetings in our PJs or tracks paired with a formal top-wear to look presentable is the normal work from home trend.

And to our delight, on days without any video call meetings we can lay around working on our systems in our night suits all day long, as we please. Try getting out of your comfort mode and dress up like you usually do for your work. You’ll see a considerable difference in your mood and you’ll definitely want to sit up and work instead of lazing around in your bed.

3) Change your bed sheets: The feeling of a freshly laundered bed sheet is undoubtedly the simplest and the most powerful hack to instantly change your mood. Keeping aside the amazing Goodnight’s sleep it’s going to give you, you’ll feel extremely comfortable and relaxed looking at a super clean perfectly set-up bed.

4) Organize and rearrange your room: Messy is not bad. But monotony is tiring. Simply arrange your things, reorganize your cupboard, fold your clothes or just move around your furniture. You’ll feel accomplished and experience an immediate change
in your mood.

5) Go through old photo albums: All of us are from times of reels and photo albums. We have tons of family albums stocked up somewhere. While visiting our memories in ‘Google photos’ is something we do all the time and feel good looking at our old
pictures, going through old photo-albums hits different. It will undoubtedly leave you extremely happy and cheerful.

Remember we are all on the same page, let’s try to slow down, do little things and not immerse ourselves in the pressure of productivity. Staying happy and cheerful in these unprecedented times is above anything else. Stay happy, Stay safe!
