There are testing times in life when we feel shattered and sunken. We look for help all around and try to rebuild the house and regain the lost hope.

During these tough times we have our share of lessons and learning. The past experience would show that we do get helping hands from someone or the other and sail through the crisis.

Generally, the support comes either from a family member or a friend who reciprocates our past gesture. In rare cases, it comes from unexpected persons who offer the help just out of their innate altruistic nature and magnanimity.

While help from unexpected quarter is a matter of sheer luck and chance, an aid from friend or family is the sole result of our good karmas (noble actions).

At some point of time we must have done something for him/her which is being returned. The reciprocity could be higher in intensity in case help was extended without expecting anything in return.

In most cases, lending money or offering resources for temporary use alone are seen as help. But not necessarily they are the only way of easing someone’s financial or emotional distress.

Feeling happy for someone’s success, empathizing with someone facing challenges in life and showing willingness to go extra mile in case of need are far more important. After all, we could lend a little money to someone and may write it off also but feeling genuinely for the same person for his financial distress requires real kindness in the heart.

Extending support to someone with heavy heart does not qualify as help.

There are occasions when one of our friends or even acquaintances put blood, sweat, heart and soul to take us out from the pit and resuscitate. They do not do so for any gain but end up making us realize the world around us could be made beautiful by extending unconditional support to someone.
